Poetry for your tears

I’ve been trying to write every time the moment hits. I’ve failed at that. But I did write some last night….

Paint

Tonight I stroked softly

A little up

A little down

But there’s no amount of paint

To cover up your memory

Sunrise

I watched the sunrise today

Giving new life with a new day

To everything it’s rays touched

I reached out to hold on

Hoping it would do the same for me

But like you

It’s just out of reach

The Broken Screen

I’m a broken phone screen

With spider web cracks.

You can use me freely

Barely noticing my damage

You know they’re there

But you do your best to ignore them

But I’m just one more drop

One free fall to the ground

Before I crack wide open

And cease to function entirely.

Thoughts weren’t light last night, but they rarely are, I guess. Cheers.
